After taking Tamiflu (oseltamivir), an antiviral medication used to treat influenza (flu), individuals may still be contagious for a period of time. Tamiflu helps reduce the severity and duration of flu symptoms by inhibiting the activity of the influenza virus, but it does not immediately eliminate the virus from the body. Typically, individuals with the flu remain contagious for about 5-7 days after symptoms first appear, even if they have started treatment with Tamiflu Dosage. The contagious period can vary depending on factors such as the individual's overall health and immune response, as well as the specific strain of the influenza virus causing the illness. Therefore, it's important to continue taking precautions to prevent the spread of the flu, such as practicing good hand hygiene, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding close contact with others, even while taking Tamiflu.
